INSTRUCTORS:

Suzanne Palmer, President of Export Compliance Solutions, has over 20 years of experience within the State Department and as a Licensing Officer, and 8 years direct experience with the U. S. defense industry. Ms. Palmer specializes in training, interpreting and applying U.S. export control regulations and establishing export compliance programs. She has served on the Defense Trade Advisory Group (DTAG) and as a Special Compliance Official (SCO) for a company operating under a Consent Agreement.

Patricia Dudley is a former State/DDTC Licensing Officer who has extensive government and industry licensing experience. With over 14 years of service at the U.S. Department of State, serving three Secretary of State's, and more than 10 years of hands-on experience in the satellite and defense services and defense industry, Ms. Dudley possesses a unique combination of Government experience with practical application and implementation. Following her tenure at State, Ms Dudley joined Intelsat, the world's largest satellite owner/operator, and was instrumental in transforming an intergovernmental organization to a private corporation where she managed a comprehensive export compliance program.

John Pisa-Relli is the Deputy General Counsel for International Trade Compliance at Thales Defense & Security. Before joining Thales, John served with the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, the State Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls, and the Commerce Department's Bureau of Export Administration. John is the principal legal adviser to the Thales Group on compliance with U.S. trade controls and national security requirements, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, the Export Administration Regulations, economic sanctions, antiboycott laws, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Customs and import requirements, and NISPOM requirements.

Krista Helvey Trade Compliance Manager at Thales Defense & Security Her primary responsibilities include managerial and operational implementation of the Group's U.S. trade compliance program in the United States and worldwide, including export license management and logistics, trade compliance training and auditing, and formulating trade compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines. She is also a licensed Customs Broker.

Matthew McGrath is a Washington attorney with McGrath Law Group and has more than 20 years of ITAR and defense trade experience. His areas of expertise include export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and other related areas of law. He is a member of the Technology Working Group (TWG) for the Militarily Critical Technologies Program (MCTP).
