Throughout history artillery has been referred to as "The God of War" or "The King of Battle". The current and future importance of fire support cannot be over emphasized. Providing rapid suppression fires in order to neutralize the enemy so that ground forces can accomplish their mission remains ever necessary and a cornerstone of modern militaries. International efforts in artillery modernization are underway to advance precision, mobility, lethality.
