Connecting the Critical Links in Service Member and Family Care
Those within the healthcare community, from medics and surgeons to therapists and records managers, have told us that they want and need an opportunity to share and exchange ideas. In addition to the sharing and exchanging of ideas, field professionals want to gain insight on best practices from their peers in an environment that facilitates open dialogue. IDGA’s, “Battlefield Healthcare” conferences have successfully provided these opportunities in the regional conference format; however, the scope and pace of operations has created the need for a new, large-scale, national forum aimed at bringing together a critical mass of practitioners to share and benchmark important developments.
With these rapid changes occurring in almost every discipline, and at almost every level of care, the individual practitioner has not been able to keep pace with the comprehensive spectrum of care. Caregivers have told us that they desire a more current picture of the overall processes that are occurring several steps before and after their care is given. Military Healthcare Convention and Conference’s sole purpose is to provide field professionals with the resources and the insight required to be a leading member of the medical community.

Military Healthcare Convention & Conference: The Research and The Vision
Continuing operations have had an unprecedented impact on the military healthcare community. Over the past ten years, high intensity operations have created the need for and led to advancements in trauma care, casualty transit, CONUS care, rehabilitation and postrehabilitation processes. While there are indeed great successes in these areas, new challenges continue to present themselves including the study and treatment of traumatic brain injury or TBI, a slow prosthetic evolution, and an alarming suicide rate. In addition, the Surgeons General’s dedication to the well-being of military families has made the military community adopt and in some cases lead advances in family medicine. In short, the military medical environment is changing faster than the overall system and any single caregiver or service provider can keep pace
