Past event: 8th European Algae Industry Summit

Following the success of its previous editions, our 8th European Algae Industry Summit (25-26 April, 2018 - Vienna, Austria) will explore the ongoing developments of the algae industry. With insights from key industry players, the conference will address both the technical and commercial aspects of algae production and its end-uses, in Europe and across the globe.

This edition of the summit will highlight different case studies on the various uses & products made from algae, during dedicated sessions.

The two day event will also propose an in-depth look into the technologies supporting the industry. The participants will also have the chance to discuss how to keep the industry thriving as a whole, through best practices & lessons learnt, as well as ensuring sustainability.

Join us in Vienna for a highly interactive & informative conference, whilst enjoying the networking opportunities with your peers.

Exclusive Site Visit

Ecoduna Plant - Tuesday 24th April 2018

During the afternoon of Tuesday 24th April, prior to the conference, a limited number of attendees will receive the unique opportunity to visit the newly expanded Ecoduna Plant.

ecoduna is a young SME founded in 2010 using proprietary  photobioreactor(PBR) technology  for microalgae biomass production. With the currently 21 employees, and its patented technology of vertically flowing PBRs (i.e. hanging gardens) ecoduna produces biomass of various algae species of high quality. Based in Austria, ecoduna is growing algae strains all year round in the demonstration plant with the goal to produce biomass for omega3 algae oil extraction. In 2017 the technology is taken to industrial scale with the construction of a 1ha production facility. The plant will be operational from 2018 on. During the site visit, both locations, the demonstration plant with the R&D set up as well as the industrial production site will be visited.

There is no extra charge to attend the site visit, but spaces are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please register your attendance for the site visit when booking for the conference.
