Past event: DoD Energy & Power Summit 2020

Enhancing Energy Efficiency for Military Systems and Installations

EVENT UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution due to COVID-19 for the health and safety of our valued attendees & exhibitors, and to ensure maximum community attendance, we will postpone the DoD Energy & Power Summit, originally scheduled for May 13-14, 2020 until July 28 & 29, 2020, at the American Institute of Architects.

In the evolving threat landscape, the United States military has recognized a need to reduce its dependence on established logistical networks for power generation and refueling. The current system leaves warfighters vulnerable to attack and is financially and environmentally unsustainable. In an effort to effectively compete against great power competitors, the United States military is shifting towards a more resilient energy strategy that will increase operational flexibility and success. Our DoD Energy and Power Summit will focus on the current and future policies, programs, and R&D aimed at creating a more energy-resilient force both overseas and at home.

Topics to be Covered at the Summit:

  • Synchronizing DoD operational energy needs with current operations and world-wide missions
  • Developing a Robust Army Energy Infrastructure to Enable Total Force Readiness
  • Equipping the Warfighter with Resilient Capabilities to Reduce Sustainment Demand
  • Providing the DoD with effective and efficient energy solutions
  • Improving Energy Storage Capabilities to Increase Operational Flexibility
  • Providing versatile power generation during full-spectrum operations

Why You Should Attend this Year's Summit:

This educational Symposium will bring together senior DoD officials, military leaders, academia, and solution providers to explore emerging concepts and capabilities in necessary to support the use of power and energy for the Department of Defense. With DoD being the number one energy user in the world, the creation of efficient and resilient methods of supplying the Warfighter with power, both at home stations and across the world, is a critical mission

Our 2020 DoD Energy and Power Summit will discuss the efforts the DoD and other organizations are putting into creating more robust and effective power capabilities across the full spectrum of military operations. As emerging technologies require greater energy generation the DoD will need to figure out how to provide this vital resource to warfighters in austere and distant environments.

This symposium will feature senior level discussions that emphasize the critical need for the rapid acquisition and development of power and energy systems across the DoD and government This program will allow for open and honest dialogue to solve difficult technical and strategic challenges energy generation and resilience presents the nation.
