Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace and Space Conference

Europe's Premier Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace and Space Conference

, Hamburg , Germany

Scaling AM and Identifying Future Areas for Deployment

The Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace & Space conference is returning for its seventh edition - the premier forum for AM users, R&D experts, and industry partners within the aerospace and space industry. The 2021 meeting will take place in Hamburg, a city that is home to the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Additive Manufacturing Technologies IAPT as well as industry leaders SLM Solutions which conference delegates are invited to visit on the first day.

AM for Aerospace is the leading conference platform for ensuring opportunities in high value manufacturing are not squandered and so that the aerospace industry is prepared to tackle the roadblocks of industrialisation of AM technology. The forum also provides an opportunity for cross-industry collaboration with others involved in producing AM parts for high performance applications and safety critical functions.

Over the course of three days - which includes an exclusive visit to the SLM Solutions Group manufacturing site in Luebeck - the conference provides a platform to support opportunities in high value manufacturing and help prepare the aerospace industry to tackle the roadblocks of industrial digitisation.

Early topics identified for discussion include:

  • AM Challenges for space applications
  • Urban Air Mobility and how AM can offer dramatic performance agins
  • OEMs relationship with end users and aftercare
  • Workforce requirements & automation
  • Qualifying materials and processes
  • Monitoring the digital thread
We sincerely hope you can join us in Hamburg!

Key Agenda themes include:

  • Certification and standardisation strategies delivering critical assurance for defence, space and aerospace applications
  • Space, air, land and sea applications for additive manufacturing processes
  • Digital Thread, Digital Twins and Complete production cycle evaluation and assessment of through-life costs
  • Training engineers and designers to 'think in additive manufacturing' terms to utilise AM's full potential
  • Innovation and new technologies developing additive manufacturing for defence, space & aerospace
  • Commercialisation of research and developing short-term additive manufacturing strategies
  • Urban Air Mobility as an exciting new sector with opportunities for AM to make radical performance gains in areas such as heat transfer

Reasons to attend Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace & Space

  • Adopt lessons learned from a variety of economically quantifiable case studies delivered by OEMs and Downstream Suppliers - describing how they were able to leverage AM technology to deliver feasible economic returns
  • Understand how the AM and digital manufacturing market is developing in Europe and internationally - to ensure that your own manufacturing process remains competitive and able to deliver repeatable and high quality components
  • Increase automation in your manufacturing processes to benefit from the cost and timing saving benefits that AM provides, by networking with and learning from AM pioneers and innovation leaders
  • Hear exclusive case-studies from industry leaders on how cutting-edge collaborative industrial research projects are advancing opportunities of additive manufacturing, and use this to inform your own approach to industrial AM

"Very valuable. We acquired a state-of-the-art understanding, not only of technologies but also of the data and documentation complexities and eco-system of the AM community"
Rasmus Dejgaard Jensen, Programme Lead , Vestas Wind Systems

"Excellent. Well balanced to reflect the wide spectre of AM applicability" "For a starting company in this field this event has been valuable in particular with its applicability to automotive and power generating industries"
Alexander Urban, Chairman &CEO , Integrated Steel & Power Ltd

"Good cross-section of speakers, interesting inclusion of Space/satellite industry"
Neall Heath, Industrial Engineer , Selex ES
