Past event: DoD Energy & Power Summit

Powering the Future Force Through Resilient, Efficient and Sustainable Energy

The 3rd Annual DoD Energy and Power Summit will focus on the technologies and policies necessary to support greater energy efficiency, resiliency, affordability and environmental sustainability for the Department of Defense for both fixed and mobile environments at home and abroad. Our Summit will bring together senior members of the Military Services, DoD, Federal Government, Industry & Academia in a 'Town-Hall' style forum for active dialogue and the interchange of ideas and knowledge over two days.

Current Health and Safety Protocols

Topics to be covered at the 2021 Summit:

  • Enabling Resilient, Efficient, and Cyber Secure Energy for Joint Forces, Weapon Systems and Installations
  • Strategic updates impacting energy and power systems and overall Master Planning from recently published Installation and Energy Strategies from Army, Navy and Air Force
  • Increasing renewables, storage and onsite generation to support installation energy assurance, resilience and sustainability
  • Increasing renewables, storage and onsite generation to support installation energy assurance, resilience and sustainability
  • Energy scavenging technologies to passively power equipment and charge batteries for individuals and small units
  • Powering advanced technologies including weapon systems, sensors and radars ashore and afloat
  • EVs for tactical and non tactical applications in DoD
  • Developments in extreme batteries, micro nuclear reactors, fuel cells, and bioenergy
  • Cyber secure control systems
  • Using data and integrated energy management systems for increasing efficiencies and reliability

Why You Should Attend This Summit:

As military technology continues to rapidly develop, from weapon systems ashore and afloat to advanced Solider sensors and tactical electric vehicles the power needs and supporting infrastructure of these systems evolves and grows as well and will require unique capabilities to be delivered to diverse and austere environments.

Technologies and methods will have to be developed in order to guarantee that American forces will have the power needed to complete any mission, anytime, anywhere.

At the same time, aging infrastructure and the threat of natural disasters and enemy attacks have left DOD bases and installations vulnerable. In 2020, the Army, Navy and Air Force have all released updated energy installation strategies that impact the current energy and power systems and inform the capability expectations and needs of these systems for future installations.

Our current Administration has deemed climate change the "greatest threat" to US national security and historic commitments to climate action and clean energy are underway to address this threat. DoD has stood up a Climate Advisory Group to help inform DoD's critical role in fulfilling those commitments and help the Services in their future planning.

Our Summit directly supports these DoD and Federal Government priorities by providing a forum for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their department's mission success, at no charge to the government, and in an efficient expenditure of time.

Join us to engage in this critical dialogue and walkaway with new knowledge gained and an expanded network.
