Past event: Digital Forensics for National Security Symposium

Utilizing Forensic Tools to Enhance Investigative Capabilities

Our 3rd Annual Digital Forensics for National Security Symposium will once again bring together members of the Federal Government, DoD, US Military Services, Industry, & Academia in a 'town-hall' style forum to examine how advances in Digital Forensics, sometimes called 'Computer Forensics', are advancing investigative capabilities when examining electronic crimes, attacks, and intrusions at the national, state, and local levels. Senior level leaders will discuss how these forensic software tools, training, & technologies are helping to identify, maintain, & analyze digital evidence in a more efficient manner to help neutralize threats to national security.

Topics to be covered at the 2022 Symposium:

  • Enhancing digital forensics R&D to further facilitate digital evidence acquisition & analysis at the DOJ
  • Delivering superior forensics & cyber technical training at the DoD in support of law enforcement, counterintelligence, & counterterrorism efforts
  • Delivering technology-based solutions that enable & enhance the FBI's intelligence, national security, & law enforcement operations
  • Driving innovation at AFOSI in digital forensics that will help to facilitate an effective cyber strategy & improve overall investigative capabilities for special agents in the field
  • Overseeing FLETC's Development & Delivery of Collaborative Digital Evidence Acquisition & Cyber defense training to all levels of law enforcement
  • Augmenting & amplifying NSA's ability to prevent & eradicate cyber threats through increased industry partnerships
  • Maintaining NCIS's strong partnerships with Local, State, Federal, & Foreign Law Enforcement/Intelligence agencies to help track developments & trends in computer intrusions
  • Leveraging digital forensics technologies to identify & combat false media such as Deepfakes

Why You Should Attend This Year's Symposium

The Digital Forensics market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 12.14% over the forecast period to reach a market size of US$8.973 billion in 2026, from US$4.024 billion in 2019. The reason for this being that rising levels of cyber and digital crime will cost the World $6 trillion per year. This year's Digital Forensics for National Security Symposium will once again bring together members of the IC, DoD, Federal Government, Industry, & Academia in a 'town-hall' style forum to examine how advances in Digital Forensics, sometimes called 'Computer Forensics', are advancing investigative capabilities when examining electronic crimes, attacks, and intrusions at the national, state, and local levels. Senior level leaders will discuss how these forensic software tools, training, & technologies are helping to identify, maintain, & analyze digital evidence in a more efficient manner to help neutralize threats to national security. This Symposium will detail how current innovations in digital forensic workflow tools have aided in various criminal investigations, while also ensured that data was preserved & collected.

This year's forum will detail the increased the need across all levels of law enforcement/government for increased cyber technical training. It will also stress how important it is to develop highly trained analysts, that can delve into the growing threat that digital media presents. This event will also offer attendees the chance to hear Senior leaders discuss how they are leveraging successful law enforcement partnerships to help in investigating complex criminal activity in cyberspace. Attendees at this event will also have the chance to hear innovative panel discussion about the current/future collaborative efforts between government, academia, & industry toward integrating digital forensics technologies to both identify & combat false media such as Deepfakes.

Our team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Summits' content and focus areas. We assemble the most respected minds in the manufacturing and acquisition communities, as well as the key policymakers across military and civilian offices. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all services and organizations to bring together a truly holistic group of decision makers and solution providers.

At Our Symposium You Will Have the Ability to:

  • Gain Education & Insight: Walk away with knowledge gained from our senior level speakers on some of the complex challenges facing our Digital Forensics Community.
  • Build Partnerships: The agenda is designed to allow for ample networking opportunities and the ability to engage in constructive dialogue among all in attendance.
  • Influence: Help foster ideas. Share your own insight and knowledge during our interactive sessions. All attendees are encouraged to address our speaker faculty and each other with their questions, comments or ideas.
