Past event: Facilities and Campus Energy Summit North America

"Improving Energy Efficiencies and Environmental Sustainability in the Built Environment"

The 3rd Annual Facilities & Campus Energy Summit is designed to provide an interchange of in depth knowledge and serve as a catalyst for collaboration across large built environments that do not necessarily engage one another on a daily basis but all share the common goals of:

Improving strategic planning and technical operations to support decarbonization and electrification, increase overall energy efficiencies, reliability, and resiliency. These sectors include:

Higher Education, Hospitals and Healthcare Systems, Federal Facilities and Life Sciences.

The highly curated two-day agenda offers over 5 senior level panels, 8 plenary sessions (no tracks!), 5 hours of dedicated networking and live technology and solution demonstrations onsite.

2023 Topics to Include:

Financing, Design and Operational Strategies:

  • How do we build the business and operational models of new energy efficiency and environmental sustainability projects for our existing buildings, from funding to design, and how do we choose what energy generation and storage systems make sense while meeting key requirements of resilience, power quality and economy?
  • How do we evolve our strategic Master Planning to support not only energy upgrades to our current buildings but future build that meets our organization’s evolving ESG goals? What partnership models and economic strategies are we looking at?
  • Current private and public financing mechanisms to support energy efficiency and sustainability projects in your built environment: who’s funding what and how?
  • Utilizing our data effectively: How are we evolving our overall lifecycle facilities management framework and enterprise resource planning tools? What should a framework include and what tools do we utilize or are exploring to support our tracking and reporting of emissions?

Technologies and Solutions:

  • Carbon measuring and monitoring tools and techniques including tools to guide decision making towards building reuse and retrofit vs new build
  • Design and engineering best practices and tools to support economic and functional decision making for facility retrofits, reuse and new build design to meet organization’s energy and environmental goals
  • Advancements in: Heat Pumps for campuses and large facilities, HVAC and IAQ
  • Innovations in onsite generation and storage: including integrating EVs, battery storage, building-integrated photovoltaics (PV), microgrids, and more
  • Digital Solutions / EMS capabilities to support a decarbonized energy future: Making existing buildings “smarter” to help improve energy efficiencies, IAQ, reduce carbon and improve resilience
  • IT/OT Cyber Security and Control Systems
  • Energy/Water Nexus: water resource conservation, safety and optimization strategies
  • ...and more!

At Our Summit You Will Have the Ability to:

  • Gain Education & Insight: For facility and campus energy stakeholders, you will walk away with knowledge gained from our senior-level speakers and attendees to help you improve the efficiency, resiliency and sustainability of your built environment. For industry innovators, you will walk away with a deep understanding of the current challenges, needs, and initiatives across a variety of stakeholders from federal, state, and private sectors, and learn about where you solution or service may be best applied.
  • Build Partnerships: The Facilities & Campus Energy North America Summit is designed to bring together a variety of stakeholders from across multiple sectors in order to allow to network with and forge partnerships with persons you may not have necessarily had to the opportunity to engage with yet. You will also have the ability discover the latest technologies and trends driving the energy market for facilities and campuses across the Nation during our ample networking time throughout both days.
  • Influence: Share your own insight and knowledge during our interactive sessions. Designed as an interactive ‘Town Hall’ forum, all attendees are encouraged to engage in dialogue and discussion with each other and the speakers during each session.

"This is my second year in attendance. Not only have the speakers and subjects been incredible but these are the most forward thinkers in the goals of ESG, Sustainability and Resiliency I have met to date. Our firm met some state-of-the-art technology suppliers and are moving forward with them to better our campus building management. This type of discussion is the way we will be successful as leaders in our industries to attain ESG and sustainability / Resiliency goals."
