8th Annual Military Energy Alternatives

5 March, 2013 - 7 March, 2013, Washington, DC, United States

Event Focus

The Department of Defense is one of the biggest energy purchasers, exponentially spending billions of dollars every year on fuel and energy. As volatile fuel prices reduce capabilities and increasingly electronic military intensifies vulnerability, pressure is on both the energy sector and DoD to prioritize mission critical energy constraints by securing alternative power sources and improving grid efficiency.

Achieving U.S Forces Operational Energy Strategy objectives is heavily dependent on the development of alternative energy sources like Biofuels, Biomass, Geothermal and Nuclear. Planning processes need to consistently account for available energy sources to better calculate appropriate tradeoffs between critical mission cost and soldier risk.

To reduce vulnerability, U.S Forces must also decrease energy demands of a growing digital force. Current initiatives like NetZero and micro grid projects in aging infrastructures illustrate the vitality of upgrading mechanisms and establishing demand support to create a sustainable future force.

Quantifying future energy requirements in supply chains and logistics is a necessary and often neglected variable required for mission success. The 8th Annual Military Energy Alternatives Conference will quantify the impacts of U.S. forcesí energy decisions to create gainful technology solutions for renewable security and sustainable energy planning.

In addition to benefiting from a dynamic presentation format consisting of workshops, panel discussions and case studies, attendees will experience:

  • Interactive Conference Sessions
  • 20 case study driven briefings
  • 10-15 Minutes of Q&A Time After Each Presentation- Providing an opportunity to address specific questions and concerns affecting YOU
  • 4+ Hours of Networking
  • Online Access to Materials Post-Event - Convenient reference to content back at your office to discuss with colleagues

Key Topics

  • Quantify renewable technology status updates to establish planning processes supportive of macro and micro-grid innovation
  • Increase energy security by promoting the development of biofuels, biomass, geothermal and nuclear alternative energy sources
  • Institute relations to stabilize the grid and assure power purchase agreement returns on renewable investments
  • Reduce demand in an aging infrastructure through NetZero and waste to energy initiatives to create sustainable mission success
  • Streamline request for proposal and solicitation processes to expedite the development of emerging mission-critical energy solutions
