Europe First & Only Advanced Suspension Systems Conference Returns Supported by More Automotive Brands Than Ever Before

Interest in advanced suspension systems is continuing to increase rapidly and in parallel to the latest vehicle electrification trends. More and more state-of-the-art technologies are on the horizon to fulfill new electromobility demands and challenges, with a greater emphasis on achieving cost-efficiency throughout the vehicle.

While several automotive companies are actively working on optimising existing suspension systems, the majority of vehicle manufacturers and Tier-1 companies are designing, developing, and integrating new semi-active, fully-active and air suspension systems. Whether and how active suspension systems can become viable for both flagship vehicles and mass-market vehicle is a recurring question. On the one hand, customers are demanding a higher level of ride comfort and ride handling without compromising vehicle performance. On the other hand, vehicle manufacturers are facing enormous pressure to reduce system costs and development time, increase response time and the robustness of the suspension and manage lightweighting challenges.

The Catch-22 situation for OEM's right now is: Delivering increased functionality and ride comfort at the lowest cost possible.

Additionally, concrete steps are being taken at OEM companies to do more simulation and virtualisation to decrease time and cost spent on prototyping and testing, and to reduce resources being put towards verification and validation. There is more interest now than ever before in using software systems, connectivity and connected vehicle data and AI to support suspension engineering from start-to-finish, from vehicle-to-component levels. And the relationship between autonomous vehicles and suspension systems is being investigated from a performance, motion sickness and power consumption point of view.

The 13th Automotive Advanced Suspension Systems Europe 2024 event returns to Munich, Germany in November with opportunities to discuss and solve immediate challenges facing the automotive suspension industry, and is co-located with the Automotive Braking Systems and Advanced Steering Systems events, which together, make up our Chassis Systems Week 2024.
