Exclusive Site Visit

During the afternoon of Tuesday, 1st of April 2025, a day prior to the summit, a limited number of conference delegates will have the unique opportunity to visit Rijtak production facility in in Sint-Katelijne-Waver.

Rijtak is a family business that grows tomatoes and bell peppers. Traditional agriculture has been practiced in the same place for 3 generations, but now things are changing. Many factors make it more difficult to practice traditional agriculture on this area in a profitable manner. Rijtak started looking for a crop of the future that can offer more on the same surface area. Microalgae! Rijtak started growing microalgae on a small scale in 2021. At the beginning of 2023, an important decision was made to replace some of the rows of our traditional tomato cultivation with a place to grow Spirulina. At the end of that same year Rijtak launched our first product. By shifting cultivation, Rijtak opened the door to the food of the future.

There is no extra charge to join, although the number of places is limited and allocated to the conference delegates on a first-come first-served basis. Therefore, we would strongly recommend you to book your place early enough to avoid disappointment.
