DoD is placing significant emphasis on expanding the development and deployment of loitering munitions systems across battle spaces. Loitering munitions are projected to propel the military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market to $18 billion by 2033. Widely recognized for their role in the Ukraine conflict, these kamikaze-style drones are being adopted by militaries around the world—including the U.S., which is advancing drone swarm capabilities through its Replicator Initiative to overwhelm adversaries at scale.
