Past event: Dismounted Night Vision Nordic

Reclaiming the night with enhanced operational capacity

We are delighted to announce the official launch of the inaugural Dismounted Night Vision Nordic conference which will be held from 26th – 27th June in Oslo, Norway. This event will be the first night vision event of its sort to be held in Norway and the first to address the challenges of night vision systems from a unique Nordic standpoint.

Operations in Afghanistan have required a complete rethink about the way in which combat operations are executed. ISAF forces have learned the hard way that one of the best methods of targeting an elusive enemy is to blend into the night. With the Nordic nations still heavily committed to combat operations in Afghanistan, there is a drive to upgrade night vision systems to allow combat infantry to ‘reclaim the night’.

Building upon the success of our existing Infantry Weapons and Soldier Modernisation events, Dismounted Night Vision Nordic 2013 will bring together serving military and industry experts from around the world to gather in London, providing a unique opportunity to discuss the latest tactics and technological developments that are helping to enhance operational capacity in low light situations.

Be part of an event that delivers answers to the most pressing issues:

  • How are SWIR sensors being developed to give even greater clarity for target identification?
  • How the new developments in Clip On Thermal Imaging devices bridge the gaps in capability?
  • How does the NORMANS project build an exportable picture of the low light battle space?
  • What is the strategy that allows US Special Operators to continue ‘owning the night’
  • How does SORDAC deliver the right kit at the right time?
