Past event: European Biomass to Power Conference

Following the success of the event in Krakow,  we are delighted to announce that European Biomass to Power will take place on 1-2 April 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Moving onto its 4th edition, this platform has quickly evolved and grown to become one of the leading forums for discussions and networking amongst key biomass industry stakeholders, including leaders from upstream, midstream & downstream companies from across Europe.

European Biomass to Power will be co-located with Bioenergy Commodity Trading 2014. Whilst at this year's event, attendees have the opportunity to switch between conferences and attend sessions at both events. This is a great opportunity to maximise your contact base across the bioenergy supply chain and hear from leading professionals within the sector.

Key Topics

  • Analysis of Current Policy, Legislation & Sustainability Developments
  • Nordic Market Insights: Role of Biomass in Utility Energy Mix
  • Raising Finance for Biomass Projects
  • Sustainable Biomass Sourcing, Handling & Storage
  • Creating Revenue Streams from Multi-Feedstocks
  • Case Studies: Biomass for Power & Heat
  • Biomass Conversion Solutions: Combustion, Gasification & Pyrolysis
  • Future of Torrefaction, Incineration & Flue Gas Treatment

Exclusive Site Visit

We have the exciting opportunity to visit DONG Energy’s Avedøre Power Station during the afternoon of Monday 31st March 2014 as part of the event.  Only a limited number of the conference attendees will have this opportunity.  The multi-fuel Avedøre Power Station on the outskirts of Copenhagen ranks among the best in the world, utilising up to 94% of the energy in the fuels.  The total capacity of the power station’s two units are approximately 793 MW electricity and 826 MJ/s heat. Avedøre Power Station supplies 200,000 households with heat and generates about 30 % of the electricity consumption on Zealand, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 1.3 million households.  By simultaneously generating heat and power the power station reaches record-high fuel efficiencies of up to 94%. The higher the fuel efficiency, the less fuel is needed per kWh generated, and the less CO2 is emitted per kWh.
