Enhancing handheld sensors and fusion capabilities for individual personnel

Campaign experience has shown that identifying the enemy, rather than simply acquiring a target, is a paramount requirement for N.V applications. The challenge for nations is to strike a balance between acquiring and identifying the target, but how can this be achieved?

We are delighted to announce Night Vision and Thermal Optics 2014 - taking place on the 15th-17th September 2014 in London. Building on from the success of our Dismounted Night Vision Nordic Conference, Night Vision and Thermal Optics 2014 will analyse developments in handheld night and thermal vision technology.

Providing expert insight from militaries across the world, Night Vision and Thermal Optics 2014 will allow you to:
  • Debate whether fusion technology is a viable solution in the battle to reduce the SWaP demands of current night vision systems
  • Explore the latest sensors and accessories that facilitate target acquisition and how these solutions are influencing the future capability plans of handheld N.V applications
  • Discover how nations are improving target identification by replacing current systems or integrating additional solutions
  • Debate the future of night vision capabilities; should sensors do more to help facilitate target acquisition? Is integration to a digital battle space the way forward in improving situational awareness, or does the added weight and technical demands negate the benefits it brings?
