The shale gas revolution in the United States was heralded as “a miracle”. As companies raced to make effective use of this burgeoning commodity, Gas to Liquids was cited as one of the technologies which could effectively monetise and refine these gas reservoirs. However, the Gas to Liquids Industry faces great challenges and increasingly unfeasible economics brought on by the narrowing differential in the price of crude oil and gas.
