Opportunities and Challenges of Tablets – Are You Ready?
Tablets in the plane, under the plane and around the plane - they're popping up everywhere, but are they properly implemented, supported and utilized? This discussion will deliberate on potential ROI benefits, approaches to mapping and designing interface with the tablet device, operational benefits, such as information transfer across the organization and possibly, the industry, and much more.

Building the Business Case for IT
A successful IT business case clearly communicates the rationale for making a system or technology investment to transform your maintenance operations, but it also involves many key internal departments analyzing and determining pertinent ROI dollars. In May, Air Berlin successfully rolled out their tablet project simultaneously in Berlin and Munich, with plans to expand it to other repair facilities. This project developed a user-friendly tablet interface for their shop floor workforce as well as service trucks. Hear from Air Berlin how they aligned their IT initiatives, operational priorities and financial cost-benefit analysis to move forward.

Configuration Management
Configuration management (CM) is critical to MRO to provide the highest level of serviceability at minimal operational costs. With constant changes, variables, and disruptions in an MRO lifecycle, CM systems must be robust and efficient to process, manage, and support new developments and adjustments. This session will discuss how to optimize systems to actively manage and calculate changes in real time, from any point in time, reducing operational and compliance risks.

§  Michael Wm. Denis, VP Customer Engagement, InfoTrust Group

11:30 a.m.

Networked MRO: A New Paradigm for MRO Resource Management

Efficient management of MRO processes requires real-time monitoring and control of the resources such as technician time, aircraft, tools, ground service equipment, spare parts etc.  Turkish Technic has developed the ‘Networked MRO’ paradigm where every resource is a node in a communications network so that they can exchange data and network with each other and with the main MRO management system.   The presentation will explore and demonstrate various applications of the Networked MRO paradigm as applied and designed for Turkish Technic.

§  Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu, R&D Projects Manager and former CIO, Turkish Airlines Technic

Closing Panel Discussion
The Fine Balance of Sharing Data across the MRO Enterprise

Integrated with operators, third-party service providers, and OEM maintenance systems, the MRO enterprise is a data-intensive environment with real-time information collected from all these sources. However, who has access to this data? How is the quality of the data guaranteed, or the integrity preserved? This closing panel discussion will bring together each stakeholder – airline, MRO and OEM – to come together to ruminate the fine balance on sharing data, where to start and how to define what is proprietary and accessible, as well as possible approaches on finding common denominators for data harmonization.

§  Moderator: Joerg Garske, Aerospace Supply Chain & Aftermarket Solutions Leader, IBM

§  David Weic, VP Business Development, Safran Corporate Strategy
