Past event: Biometrics for Government & Law Enforcement Summit

The 2020 Vision: Enhancing Security in the Government and Law Enforcement with Innovative Biometric Data and Technology.

Biometrics technology has altered the way of life in India, China and is now transforming airports and border security in the United States. The Fiscal year 2020 Budget request for the Office of Biometric and Identity Management is $269.6M. This number showcases the continuous advancements that are being made in mobile biometrics, automation, contactless passage, verification, multimodal and analysis processes. With the progression of innovative technology and the plethora of biometric data developments, it is imperative to understand how to utilize solutions ensuring national security and ultimately vetting potential threats. In addition, learning what solutions your counterparts are utilizing to secure their facilities, exchange and store data and how they are navigating upcoming policies and GDPR requirements has become crucial. Our Biometrics for Government and Law Enforcement Summit, now in its 14th successful year, is the annual gathering place to assess your challenges and network in order to establish optimum solutions.

The 2020 edition will provide you with ground-breaking and informative content on the latest technology developments, as well as overviews on key challenges and initiatives in the biometrics space. Last year's summit effectively touched upon core biometrics government topics and joined leaders ranging from the Director of Security to Heads of Acquisition.

Experience it for yourself in 2020 and join a room filled with biometric experts in both the private and public industry, nationally and from across the globe.

Our dedicated event staff will ensure you have the opportunity to network with and learn from top level government security and biometric officials, program managers, heads of biometrics and CTO's of international and commercial level companies. With the material you receive at the 2020 summit, you will be able to grow your knowledge and implement the learnt strategies and tactics to improve your security.

Don't miss out, join Biometrics for Government and Law Enforcement on February 26-28, 2020 in Washington, D.C. We look forward to seeing you there.

What are the Benefits of Attending?

  • Learn the most up to date requirements for multi-modality and mobility in biometrics tools
  • Hear the latest defense requirements for biometrics
  • Explore the latest technology for reducing error margins across multiple modes of identity recognition
  • Explore cloud-based solutions to large scale data requirements
  • Discover techniques for securing biometrics tools from spoofing

Highlights of 2020

  • Mobile Biometric Technology - Learn the latest technology requirements to achieve mobile device biometric identification. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI's) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) is seeking vendors for the development of a mobile application that can capture biometrics on android-based devices.
  • Facial Recognition Modality at the Border - US Customs and Border protection is leveraging one of the most popular biometric modalities, facial recognition, as a tool at ports of entry. This technology is critical to identification of wanted persons and in border control deployments and can streamline security operations.
  • Video Analytics - According to a new report from Homeland Security Research, entitled "Video Analytics, ISR, Intelligent Video Surveillance & Object Recognition: Asia-Pacific Market-2015-2020", the Asia Pacific video analytics market will undergo a growth of 19 percent between 2015 and 2020.
  • Rapid DNA - Rapid DNA Analysis technology brings full automation of profile development from a reference sample swab. The "swab in - profile out" process consists of automated extraction, amplification, separation, detection and allele calling without human intervention.
  • Multimodal Biometric Authentication - Multimodal biometric authentication systems take input from a single or multiple biometric devices for measurement of two or more different biometric characteristics to ensure authentication accuracy.

We will also take an in-depth look at:

  • Leveraging cloud computing for biometric data to speed up process times
  • Technical Training Day includes a site tour of CBP/DHS new Maryland Test Facility (MdTF)
  • Solutions to address "big data" requirements
  • National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Biometrics Domain (NBD) Training Workshop
  • Transitioning out of legacy systems to new databases and tracking platforms
  • Focused sessions on mobile and multi-modal biometrics innovation
  • Technologies to improve biometric accuracy (from 96% to 98.5%)
  • In-depth look at video analytics for real time authentication
  • Intuitive scanners that adapt to challenging lighting and stability environments
