This page shows historical information on the Military Behavioral Healthcare Summit, held on February 19-21, 2014 in Arlington,
VA,
United States
The new edition of this event will be held on July 22-23, 2025
Military behavioral health has become a major cause for concern for the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs in recent years. In 2012, more active duty U.S. soldiers committed suicide than died in combat. And 1.3 million veterans currently receive mental health care at the VA.
These statistics have led to a dramatic call to action and Military Behavioral Health will prevent and address these invisible wounds plaguing soldiers and veterans today. Military Behavioral Health will ensure our attendees have a clear and comprehensive understanding of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, suicide, and substance abuse. We will discuss the implications and preventative measures that may be taken to decrease behavioral health problems.
Military Behavioral Health will also explore the impact families have on behavioral issues and how behavioral health impacts veteran homelessness. Military Behavioral Health will bring together military medical professionals, leading researchers, and the best civilian practitioners to understand and overcome these pressing health issues. There is still much to be learned in the field of military behavioral health and we will discuss the major concerns for psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals. Be sure to join in on the conversation at our Military Behavioral Healthcare.
