Past event: Military Robotics Summit

Advancing Interoperability and Integration of Ground and Water Robotics

At the Military Robotics Summit, you will gain knowledge about creating and maintaining interoperable , integrated robotics systems and concepts. In-field warfighter support is gaining increasing importance as the Army, Navy, and Marines are all committed to creating a joint robotics system that work together much more efficiently than ever before. Robotics experts will present the latest advancements in the form of case studies, panel discussions and much more. It will focus on challenging operational requirements and technical capabilities to maintain constant control of machines at all time.

Background: Although the use of robotics is still in an ‘emerging’ phase, the Department of Defense decided to continue growing its investment in land and water robots. As noted recently in the Wall Street Journal, the ‘Obama administration's new defense strategy pledges a "strong commitment" to emerging technologies and singles out robotics as an area of promise.’

Our military’s front lines must continue to be strengthened and protected, both in water and on land. Therefore, robotics and unmanned systems play crucial roles in aiding our warfighters that will only grow in the near future. As technology and software becoming increasingly powerful and accurate, the Department of Defense will continue investing as they see the fruits of their efforts to grow robotics programs realized.
