Critical Infrastructure Security Summit

Safeguarding US Infrastructure Against Cyber and Physical Attacks, Threats, and Intrusions

September 22-23, 2021- National Harbor, MD, United States

As recent attacks on US interests have shown, many of the industries required to maintain our way of life are vulnerable to cyber attacks from outside actors as well as a number of other man-made and natural threats. As the nation and the globe become more interconnected through advanced technologies, losing these capabilities for even a couple of days can grind daily life to a halt or hinder many of the normal activities across our country. The Critical Infrastructure Security Summit will bring together senior leaders in a discussion on how we prevent and mitigate these attacks to ensure that the US people can continue their way of life.

Current Health and Safety Protocols

Topics to be covered at the 2021 Summit:

  • Defending the Nation's Critical Facilities from Cyber Threats and Actions
  • Delivering Engineering Solutions to Secure our Nation's Infrastructure and Energize our Economy
  • Strengthening our Nation's Ability to Withstand and Respond to Cyber Attacks
  • Ensuring US Transportation Systems Remain Safe and Open for the Free movement of people and Goods
  • Protecting the Nation's Supply Chain Infrastructure from Critical Disruptions
  • Developing the Critical Capabilities needed to respond to Cyber Attacks on US Cities
  • Securing US Energy Production Capacity from Cyber and Physical Intrusions

Why You Should Attend This Summit:

As a recent executive order by President Biden states, "The United States faces persistent and increasingly sophisticated malicious cyber campaigns that threaten the public sector, the private sector, and ultimately the American people's security and privacy". The 2021 Critical Infrastructure Summit will bring together experts from the Government, Private Sector, and Academia to discuss defending and creating resilient systems to protect our nation's vital infrastructure from outside threats and other dangers.

The interconnectivity and advanced capabilities that digital systems have provided to our nation's infrastructure systems also poses an avenue of approach for America's enemies to cripple US production and economic power without having to fire a shot. To effectively protect US infrastructure and maintain our way of life the Government, Private Sector, and Academia need to work together and create resilient and hardened systems capable of withstanding threats from outside attacks and insider threats. The critical infrastructure that keeps our nation's economy and military running are more interconnected and vulnerable than ever and there is a pressing need for the Nation to get out in front of our adversaries in cyber space.

Our Critical Infrastructure Security Summit will provide a forum to discuss the latest developments in actions and measures taken to secure the nation's infrastructure. This year's Symposium will foster conversation between relevant stakeholders from the community to discuss how to meet and overcome evolving threats and attacks across our nation and ensure continued US freedoms and resilience across the critical infrastructure sectors.
