Past event: CABSEC & OPV Latam Conference

Dedicated to Western Hemisphere Maritime Security

Enhancing Maritime Security throughout the Western Hemisphere

The Warships & OPV Latin America Conference is dedicated to fleet renewal throughout Latin America with sessions dedicated to ship design priorities, emerging requirements to strengthen fleet versatility to confront the full spectrum of maritime operations. Given the commonality of maritime hemispheric challenges, the conference examines cost-effective ways to manage the renewal and acquisition of naval platforms with updated technologies, advance multi-mission modularity, and enhance indigenous shipbuilding capability

CABSEC - The Caribbean Basin Martime Security and Coastal Surveillance conference - is dedicated to confronting regional security threats through the development of robust maritime security. This involves maritime patrol aircraft, special mission systems, air assets, and technology for information sharing. The forum operates at the strategic level and draws in Chiefs of Defence, service Chiefs as well as ministers and other senior leaders involved in enhancing regional security cooperation.

Combined these two forums deliver a long-overdue opportunity to meet with senior leaders involved in maritime security from Latin America, the Caribbean, and throughout the Western Hemisphere. The 2022 forum is hosted in Miami in the shadow of U.S. Southern Command, and well-connected via air links throughout the region.

Benefits of Attending:

  • Improve your understanding of Latin American procurement programmes and emerging requirements to formulate winning business proposals with local shipyards
  • Contribute to a strategic summit, with a place at the top table  with leaders drawn from across Latin America and the Caribbean to discuss how to improve maritime domain awareness and information sharing
  • Achieve interoperability for combined operations by learning about software compatibility and open architectures for legacy platforms
