Following the record-breaking success of the Functional Safety Week 2023, Functional Safety USA Conference returns to Michigan, focusing on current and future challenges of implementing ISO 26262 & SOTIF, whilst addressing the functional safety community’s vision for a holistic approach to automotive safety standards
With the automotive industry continuing to add more ADAS features into the vehicle, the implementation of ISO 26262 and SOTIF is more important than ever before. Functional safety standards are playing a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of increasingly complex systems, but organizations across the supply chain are still struggling to achieve compliance with ISO 26262 & ISO 21448.
As working group members prepare for the third edition of ISO 26262, the relationship between functional safety, SOTIF, ADAS, cybersecurity and software is becoming increasingly important. Additionally, following the release of ISO 21448:2022, OEMs and Tier 1/2 suppliers are still adapting SOTIF to their own processes.
Designed in close consultation with working group members as a sharing platform for best practices, use cases, and practical solutions, Functional Safety USA conference is geared to address the timeliest challenges in implementing ISO 26262 and SOTIF, ensuring safety with higher levels of autonomy, and taking a holistic approach to functional safety.
The team looks forward to bringing the functional safety community together again on September 19 - 21 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to hear from leading OEMs, Tier 1s, and semiconductor suppliers, focusing on the greatest challenges facing the industry right now.

I believe this event is a very important possibility for sharing the "State of Art", looking ahead at next steps about FuSa aims. This Conference realized the target and I am glad for taking part. Major parts of speeches and panels were well focused, and I appreciated the high level competence of the great part of speakers, particularly when they shared experience, ideas, approaches pushing the smart discussion even on the weaknesses of the ISO26262 or the integration with other normative and standard safety relevant.
Excellent occasion to meet people and make network, exchanging experiences, ideas, practices, etc. It was really interesting for me since several topics were discussed at both high and low level, form OEM to Tier 1 to Tier 2, covering all the current and future aspects.
It was a great opportunity to learn from the best people in the field. Being a new entrant in the Functional Safety Career, I got a total new exposure to the topic and its implementation in reality.
The event was very valuable because of the networking opportunities with presenters and delegates that attended to the event.
