Past event: Counter IED Middle East

Defining the threat, developing a strategy and delivering the capability

The Gulf region has grown into a center for political and economic activity and remains an important bridge between the East and the West. However, with nations like Qatar becoming a prime choice for major political, economic and sporting events, governments, public authorities and private companies need to ensure the highest levels of internal security.

One key factor, particularly during large international and national events, is the development of methods and technologies utilised to counter Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in order to protect the country and region’s security and stability.

With IEDs being the strategic weapon of choice for insurgents and terrorists, Counter IED Middle East will aim to address the IED threats of today building on the solid lessons learned by national and international counter IED specialists.

Attending Counter IED Middle East will give you a deeper understanding of the strategies involved in protecting nations against this deadly threat in light of their continued desire to host major sporting, political and economic events. You will explore possible future threats and the solutions available to both military professionals and civilians to counter those threats.
