Qatar Defence Logistics and Support Forum 2012
Developing operational efficiency, streamlining procurement systems to create logistical excellence

11 November, 2012 - 13 November, 2012, Doha, Qatar

With Qatar’s procurement and military spending growing rapidly there is a greater need for the development of efficient, effective and interoperable logistics systems and strategies. The same is true for Qatar’s allies in the region where progress in recent years has been rapid.

Recent wartime operations such as Operation Unified Protector in Libya have highlighted both the importance of coalitions as well as the logistics capabilities of Qatar and its neighbours. Through integrated processes, strategies and technologies forces were able to provide responsive, agile and flexible logistics support to the warfighter.

However responsibility does not just lie with the Armed Forces. In this region military logisticians have been successful over the past 10 years, namely in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, largely due to the relationship that they have forged with industry. OEMs and Solution providers have realised commercial capabilities to increase the availability of weapons and supplies whilst driving down sustainment costs.
