Delivering Biotechnology Solutions to Ensure Economic and National Security

The Inaugural Government Biotechnology Innovation Summit will offer a whole-of-government approach toward advancing innovative biotechnology and biomanufacturing solutions across agencies and sectors as a means of furthering and securing U.S. National Interests. Biotechnology for the government is the practical application of biological science technology to address specific objectives and challenges faced by government agencies at different levels. It involves harnessing the knowledge and tools of biology, genetics and other related disciplines to develop innovative solutions and strategies to tackle complex issues in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, energy environment and national security. As the current global leader with a bioeconomy of 5% of GDP, it is imperative to continue discussions at this forum on innovation, application and secured funding for sustainable biotech evolution. In September 2022, the White House announced an Executive Order launching a National Biotechnology and Bio-manufacturing Initiative with a $2 billion funding plan to further drive a national strategy for expanding the domestic bioeconomy and biomanufacturing capacity.

The Government Biotechnology Innovation Summit will offer a forum for leaders to discuss how the government employs biotechnology for national security purposes, including biodefense initiatives, surveillance of infectious diseases, and the prevention and response to biological threats. The Summit will also explore investing in research and development, establishing regulations and guidelines, and collaborating with academia and industry to harness the potential of biotechnology for the benefit of society as a whole.

Topics to be covered at the 2023 Summit:

  • Strategically Advancing Biosafety and Biosecurity Innovation as Part of a Growing Bioeconomy
  • U.S. Biotechnology Policy and Innovation: Fostering Collaboration for Societal Impact
  • Understanding Biotechnology for Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Solutions
  • Spearheading DoD Biomanufacturing Strategy Development
  • Pioneering Blood Surrogate Development through Collaborative Efforts
  • Addressing the Importance of Biodefense and Biosecurity Measures in Ensuring Naval Force Protection
  • Delivering Technology Solutions from the Full Spectrum of Bioscience and Biotechnology to Airmen and Guardians

Why You Should Attend This Summit:

The Government Biotechnology Innovation Summit will provide attendees the opportunity to hear from government leaders at the forefront on how biotechnology is transforming the economic, agricultural, healthcare and security landscape of the U.S. Our speakers will highlight latest developments and future projects within their respective agencies and explore leveraging the latest biotech advancements to address societal challenges, drive innovation, and pave the way for a more resilient and sustainable future.

This forum will promote discussions on how government and industry partnerships can further drive upcoming biotech innovations to address critical challenges and enhance government operations across various sectors. By harnessing the power of biotechnology through cooperation, the government can improve public health outcomes through advanced diagnostics, therapies, and personalized medicine. Biotech innovations can also revolutionize sustainable agriculture by increasing crop yields, developing drought and pest-resistant varieties, and reducing environmental impact.

The team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Symposium content and focus areas. We will assemble the most respected minds in the Biotech community, including Federal, DoD and industry. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all involved organizations bring together a truly holistic group of decision makers and solution providers.

At Our Summit You Have the Ability To:

Gain Education & Insight: Walk away with knowledge gained from our senior level speakers on some of the most complex issues facing the Federal Government and DoD as it relates to biotechnology and the bioeconomy.

Build Partnerships: The agenda is designed to allow for ample networking opportunities and the ability to discover some of the latest operational energy priorities of interest to the Federal Government and DoD.

Influence: Help foster ideas. Share your own insight and knowledge during our interactive sessions. Our town hall format is your opportunity to address our speakers with questions or comments on the current mission.
