Past event: GEOINT Innovation Summit 2023

Leveraging the GEOINT Revolution to Deliver Mission Imperatives

The 6th GEOINT Innovation Summit aims to highlight the crucial role of Geospatial Intelligence in ensuring the national security of the United States. By leveraging advanced geospatial data acquisition, analysis, and visualization techniques, GEOINT enables government agencies to gain valuable insights into various threats and challenges. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the global operating environment, including monitoring potential adversaries, securing borders, managing natural disasters, and protecting critical infrastructure. GEOINT empowers decision-makers with actionable information for effective planning, response, and mitigation strategies.

Topics to be covered at the 2023 Summit:

  • Forging the Way Ahead for NGA's GEOINT Tradecraft
  • Addressing National Security Threats through Enhanced Cooperation of GEOINT Capabilities
  • Exploring GEOINT Capabilities and Challenges to Secure the National Intelligence Mission
  • Fireside Chat: Integrating Environments to use Open Standards for Real-Time Exchange of Data Across GEOINT Capabilities
  • Accelerating Commercial GEOINT and Assured PNT Tools and Capabilities to the Warfighter
  • Eyeing Emerging Commercial Global Monitoring Services to Aid DHS in Domestic Emergencies
  • Optimizing GEOINT for Oceanographic Knowledge in Support of National Security

Why You Should Attend This Summit:

This year's Summit will provide a forum for Government and Industry leaders to convene and discuss the latest developments projects and partnerships concerning GEOINT. NGA, in partnership with other agencies and private industry, has undertaken initiatives to enhance geospatial data collection and analysis capabilities. Collaborations between intelligence agencies have resulted in the development of advanced GEOINT systems and tools, enabling comprehensive intelligence fusion and analysis through the leveraging of AI and ML. Further, the Summit will provide the opportunity for senior government leaders to address challenges linked to GEOINT developments such as protection against cyber and terrorist threats.

The USG and DoD have been heavily involved is the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) commercial imagery acquisition program. As outlined in the FY23 NDAA, NGA is to establish a six-member advisory board covering various matters, including innovation and the incorporation of commercial capabilities of GEOINT. Through this initiative, the NGA partners with commercial satellite imaging companies to obtain high-resolution imagery and geospatial data. This collaboration significantly enhances the government's ability to monitor global events and potential security risks.

The US has also been actively developing and expanding its remote sensing capabilities. The NGA, in conjunction with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and other agencies, has been working on advanced reconnaissance satellites that provide real-time, high-resolution imagery of various regions worldwide. These satellites can monitor military activities, critical infrastructure, and natural resources, contributing to the nation's security and strategic decision-making.

The team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Summits' content and focus areas, and we will assemble the most respected minds in geospatial intelligence across the federal government and military. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all services and organizations to bring together a truly holistic group of decision makers and solution providers.
