Past event: Future Indirect Fires Eastern Europe 2023 Conference

Taking Fire Power Forward on NATO's Eastern Flank

The development of artillery, air defence and the industrial base continues to be a top priority for modernising Eastern European militaries. The intensity of artillery usage in Ukraine has demonstrated the critical role of the multinational artillery and fires communities to the modernisation effort.

Future Indirect Fires Eastern Europe will look at ways to strengthen NATO's collective defence and deterrence by convening these communities including capability developers, operational users and industry experts drawn from across the artillery ecosystem. The subject matter experts will address the key challenges in the region, and the key themes including:
  • Improving precision
  • Developments in munition supply chains
  • The role of indirect fires in future force structures
  • The use of UAVs on the battlefield
  • Enhancing survivability and CCD
  • Loitering munitions
