Past event: Forensic Enabled Intelligence 2013

Harnessing Physical and Digital Evidence Through Collaboration and Technology

Forensic Science has long been an essential component of our local, state and federal efforts to deter crime nation-wide. Similarly, our armed forces have also leveraged forensic science capabilities to great success in Iraq and Afghanistan, linking terrorists and criminals to IEDs and other explosive threats. As we cut back our military efforts in the Middle East , the Department of Defense has established the Defense Forensics Enterprise, in order to expand the scope of our defense forensic capacities and synchronize efforts among federal agencies and armed forces.

Forensic Enabled Intelligence 2013 will take place just as the Defense Forensics Enterprise takes shape and procurement procedures shift from ad-hoc funding to budgeted expenses. FEI 2013 is a unique opportunity to gain first hand perspectives from those directly responsible for the direction of our future forensic efforts.

Speakers from the Office of the Provost Marshal General of the Army, the Naval Criminal Investigation Service, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Department of Defense will give their views on where forensics is headed – challenges, strategies, roadmaps and more. Additionally, sessions from the FBI, JIEDDO, Department of Justice and others will address lessons learned, the latest forensic technologies and employment techniques, strategies for intelligence sharing and much more.

We are also excited to include a full focus day on Digital Forensics! It has long been the case that threats to our national security are not only physical in nature but virtual as well. Our digital forensics focus day will address the state-of-science in digital forensic technologies, the latest digital threats, forensics for mobile devices and more.

U.S. national defense forensic capabilities are in a state of transition and FEI 2013 will set the stage for decision-makers to express requirements and listen to industry solution providers. Come join us and establish yourself as a key player in this burgeoning field!
