The 15th Anniversary Edition of Functional Safety Week is Returning to Munich, with an Agenda Created in Partnership with WG Members
There is no denying that functional safety remains a hot topic and will continue to be one for several years. That said, ISO 26262 is more mature now than a year ago and the focus has now shifted to fine-tuning processes that already exist and working towards the third edition.
The red-hot topic right now is the impact of artificial intelligence on functional safety, with the new ISO/PAS 8800 standard, focusing on safety in AI, on everyone’s minds right now. ISO/PAS 8800 is under preparation but questions are already arising on requirements and implications of the standard, compliance with ISO 26262, AI model training, and AI explainability among other areas.
SOTIF has become a bigger topic for anyone that is dealing with safety for and impact of AI. And combining safety and security continues to remain a major challenge.
On the one hand, speculation and debate on the content for the third edition of ISO 26262 is growing, and on the other, vehicle and system complexity is at an all-time high, creating new safety challenges and concerns, including handling safety cases, safety of autonomous vehicles (ISO 5083), predictive maintenance, and cyber security for safety critical systems among others.
We are inviting senior functional safety professionals in charge of implementing ISO 26262 & SOTIF on a component, system and vehicle level, and experts involved with ISO/PAS 8800, ISO 5983, DevOps and others, to join us for three days of expert-led discussions, technical presentations, unmatched networking opportunities, and an exceptional speaker line-up.
My experience as attendee and as exhibitor was very positive. There was room to interact with speakers and attendees and to learn something new.
The FuSa event is the must-be-there event to stay updated about FuSa-Cyber-SOTIF interactions, new coming standards, and state-of-the-art industry solutions.
