Past event: Software Defined Radio Conference

Will the promise of SDR remain unfulfilled? Or, can we overcome the technological barriers preventing this network enabler from achieving its full potential?

Software Defined Radio is the future of military and tactical communications. That is if the current technological problems it faces can be overcome. As costs for programmes such as JTRS spiral out of all estimation, Software Defined Radio 2013 will ask how we can overcome the capability gaps required in order to achieve a networked battlefield communication system.

While $4 billion was spent on SDR programmes last year, many of these developments have largely occured within the commercial public safety domain as military programmes are still faced by many issues. With these challenges standing in the way of a truly interconnected and interoperable battle network, militaries still have questions that need answering.

This event promises to be a must-attend for anybody concerned with the future of SDR.

Our most significant SDR event ever will bring you:

  • A comprehensive review of the status, and capability gaps, facing leading SDR programmes in the USA, , Germany, Sweden, Poland and Finland, while also considering emergent SDR nations such as Romania and Belgium
  • Understanding of how programmes such as ESSOR and ETSI are developing new standards and architectures to establish an improved link between SDR hardware and software
  • Focused discussion on the current waveform developments being undertaken globally. From bodies including NATO, EDA and the EU
  • NEW FOR 2013: For the very first time engage in discussions about how public safety and commercial sectors can provide success stories of interoprability, with a major briefing on London 2012 tactical communications from the Metropolitan Police
