Past event: Additive Manufacturing for Medicine and Dentistry Conference

Breaking the Boundaries of Modern Medicine through 3D Innovation

After the spectacular success of our inaugural additive manufacturing event, ‘Additive Manufacturing for Defence and Aerospace’ which saw over 100 attendees gather in London for 3 days of discussion and networking; we are delighted to be able to introduce the second event in the series, focusing on the medical and dental sector.

Alongside defence, aerospace and automotive, the medical and dental market holds one of the strongest vertical positions in additive manufacturing applications. Healthcare applications in AM, also commonly referred to as 3D printing, equates to approximately 20% of the global additive manufacturing market which is set to rise as further potential uses of this technology in medicine and dentistry are identified. Notably, the AM medical device market, including hearing aids and dental crowns has rapidly grown in recent years with new advances for use in tooling, surgical guides, optics and drug development

The phenomenon of medical AM has been witnessed worldwide with the US at the forefront of early adoption. However, acknowledging advances in the UK and Europe, Additive Manufacturing for Medicine and Dentistry will thrust medical experts and decision makers, researchers and innovators together to uncover the latest in digital healthcare and regenerative medicine.

Attend Additive Manufacturing for Medicine and Dentistry:

  • Learn from medical and dental practitioners, industry peers and academics that are pioneering AM methods including prototyping, bio printing for preoperative planning, medical devices and customised implants
  • Discover how ‘off the shelf’ implants will become a thing of the past, as digital healthcare opens the doors to ‘just in time’ production of bespoke medical implants leading to significant cost savings, lower waiting and operating times and improved patient satisfaction
  • Gain a future outlook for AM in the medical and dental sector exploring applications such as bio-printed tissue replicas for use in direct transplantation
  • Identify required training solutions as the maturity of AM application leads to a critical ‘med tech’ skills gap in areas including CAD design, raw material development, operations and application
  • Gain access to pioneering academics to exchange critical know-how to drive accuracy, achieve time and cost
