Past event: Cultural and Linguistic Advancement for Mission Success (CLAMS) Conference

Fortifying Language, Regional Expertise, and Cultural Competencies to Endure Shifting Strategic Priorities

Event Focus

This event is unclassified. With national defense priorities shifting, the demand for cultural and linguistic capabilities is growing in unprecedented ways. Command leaders need a support system of linguistically savvy soldiers, culturally competent officers, and experts who understand the regional nuances of operational locales. In an age of austerity, maximizing skill set investments prevails as a primary challenge for the Department of Defense. Recent conflicts have shown how knowledge of language, regional expertise, and culture are imperative to success in future engagements. This second annual forum is proud to present a team of thought-leaders from the LREC community showcasing current DoD efforts to consolidate resources, draft strategies, and utilize skills to exceed mission objectives.
