The A&D industry’s engagement with DoD over the past decade resulted in the realization of relatively few performance based sustainment arrangements.  This panel will discuss what industry can do differently that will result in broader deployment of performance based sustainment across the Department. Key focus areas include: Do government and industry understand how the other operates and what can they expect from each other?  Does industry’s approach to DoD fully recognizing the realities of the Department’s business environment?

This department has been developing improved forecasting methods and inventory management techniques to help with life cycle cost. Also, they have been looking to improve on inventory levels for low demand items. Industry needs to understand these changes so they can take advantage of these improvements to reduce cost.
