Airborne Early Warning assets are a vital enabler in the modern battle space, providing essential Command, Control and Battle Management alongside their advanced radar capabilities. However, considerable challenges still exist with regards to the employment of this highly sophisticated assets. How can these platforms best be utilised to improve airspace deconfliction, C2BM and ISR provision alongside their original AEW mission?

DefenceIQ is proud to announce that our Airborne Early Warning and Battle Management conference is returning for its 11th consecutive year as Europe's only dedicated AEW event. Building on the success of last years event, AEW&BM 2012 will continue to provide coverage of the worlds major AEW programmes whilst also showcasing how non-NATO nations are looking to procure and develop their AEW&C capabilities.


Conference Highlights Include:

  • Hear from Major General Stephen Schmidt on the status of the NATO AWACS force, feedback from current theatres of operations and the results from the recent Bold Quest trials
  • Detailed updates on the operational performance and development of E-3 Sentry, E-2C/D Hawkeye, Sea King Mk. 7 ASaC, 340 AEW and the 550 CAEW, amongst others
  • Assessment of recent operations in the Middle East and Libya, examining how operators and planners from around the world are reacting to the ever expanding roles these platforms are being required to fulfil
  • Insights into how emerging military powers and non-NATO nations are looking to facilitate more complex military operations through the use of early warning and C2 assets,with presentations from the Malaysian Air Force and the United Arab Emirates Air Force
