Past event: Military Aviation Summit

The Mission: Examine performance of current platforms, identify potential growth areas and strengthen the long term focus of Military Air Assets

Our Military Aviation Summit will provide the aviation community with a unique forum to discuss and explore current and future programs, business objectives and the evolution of military aviation. Attendees will benefit from direct access and networking opportunities with key program managers, international partners, contractors, industry suppliers and leading academia across the entire military aviation community – all under one roof and at the same time!

Valuable conference briefings will provide unmatched insights on acquisition processes, MRO, avionics, strategic DoD business partnerships, as well as modifications, upgrades and requirements for the military’s air assets. These distinctive event elements will keep attendees and their organizations ahead of the learning curve.

Aviation is at the forefront of the US Military Strategy going forward and our Military Aviation Summit is where the entire military aviation community will gather this fall to examine performance of current platforms, identify potential growth areas and strengthen the long term focus of Military Air Assets.

There has never been a more important time to gather together and discuss the issues facing the aviation community and here’s why…

  • Spending on Aviation Will be Greater than $35 Billion for FY13: In the most recent 2013 Defense Budget Bill, over $35 Billion was slated for aircraft procurement alone. Billions more will be spent in support of these new and existing air asset platforms.
  • Investment in Research, Development & Procurement for New Air Assets: The roughly $6 Billion between the Air Force and Navy for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter represents the largest investment in a single platform either air or ground for the FY13 budget cycle.
  • Maintaining an Aging Fleet: In addition to new platform research, development and procurement, a significant amount of money will be spent to sustain and upgrade the existing platforms that are currently in use. The F/A 18 A-F Lifecycle Sustainment & System Capabilities Upgrades will equal $1.9 Billion.
  • The Need for ISR is Higher than Ever: With the shift from traditional to irregular warfare, there is an increase in reliance on intelligence. As such, each branch has listed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance gathering and integration among their top priorities.

Key discussion topics will cover:

  • F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Update
  • Current and Future Unmanned Platforms
  • Sustainment and Upgrade of Current Rotorcraft Assets
  • Energy Efficiency Priorities and Potential Cost Savings
  • Aviation needs for Special Operations Forces
  • MRO – Maintaining an aging Air Fleet
  • The Future of Existing Airlift Platforms
  • A Renewed Emphasis on and Investment in Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Assets
  • Acquisition Priorities Across the DoD
