Recent years have seen multiple new security challenges emerge in the maritime domain. Navies, coastguards, and other maritime security agencies are facing a rise in threats posed by state and nonstate actors. Ensuring the free flow of international maritime trade and freedom of navigation, safeguarding sovereign EEZ's and protection of underwater infrastructure, continue to be a critical priority.
Surface Warships & OPV 2023 will address the current risks, by focusing on three themes: strategic vision for the future composition of naval forces; ensuring maritime security globally through the full utilisation of constabulary forces and support through international organisations; and the adoption of rapidly advancing technology into fleets and the advancement of current surface vessels.
Attended by Navies, Coast Guards, Constabulary Forces, Government, and intergovernmental bodies, and non-traditional partners that share similar challenges, this year's event provides insights on the following key topics:
Coastal surveillance and vessel security
Port and critical infrastructure security
Technologies and systems used for communication, detection, and data acquisition
Cross-border security and countering organised crime
Enhancing Fleet capabilities
Large Surface Combatant Program Updates
Peer to peer combat operations
Weapon systems for modern warships
With the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) market size projected to reach USD 52480M by 2029 and the increased focus on naval force structure, shipbuilding plans, and requirements for warship capabilities, Surface Warships & OPV 2023 is a crucial forum and global assembly for this community.
