At this event, I don't have to give people background on what I do. In other HR conferences, I have to explain a lot to bring people along. At this conference, because everyone shares a commonality of shared services and similar goals, it's easier to connect, maximize your time, and dive straight into solving problems and networking.
I like how the sessions have been really well thought out. The panels were awesome, and they were super prepared. Another thing I loved is that it wasn't all about everything going perfectly. I appreciated that they shared some of the challenges they faced while implementing or executing initiatives. That honesty made it a really good experience.
This has been one of the smaller events for us this year, and that's allowed us to have more intimate conversations...and it's been a fantastic way to engage with people we already know and also with those we want to get to know better.
