Asia Pacific’s only dedicated search and rescue conference!

Amidst the frequent occurrence of major natural disasters, vessels caught in extreme weather and accidents at sea. Operating an effective maritime search and rescue capability remains of paramount importance but despite this, the regional SAR community is faced by a lack of opportunities to meet and learn from one another.

Introducing Maritime Search and Rescue Asia 2013, which will provide the first opportunity for the maritime search and rescue community in Asia Pacific to assess the latest maritime SAR equipment and technology, make crucial international contacts and discuss pertinent issues specific to the field.

Attendees will learn from cutting edge case studies such as:

  • Malaysia’s cutting edge Search and Rescue Coordination Centers and how they are significantly improving the coordination of SAR operations at sea
  • New Zealand’s SAR success in the Antarctic and surrounding seas
  • Philippines’ latest vessels and their experience operating in extreme weather conditions
  • Ireland’s new life saving smart phone app to assist the Coast Guard in locating overdue vessels
  • Hong Kong’s effective multi-agency SAR coordination for rapid response and rescue


Scheduled in conjunction with the Annual Global MDA: Coastal Surveillance conference, Maritime Search and Rescue Asia 2013 will give participants the opportunity to network and discuss both topic areas in depth, whilst incorporating key stakeholders from both events.
